However, SimplePractice (founded in 2012) is primarily focused on mental health practices, counselors, therapists and similar specialties. It has more modern interface that is easier to use than Tebra. SimplePractice's strengths include in-built library of document and record templates, assessment forms, automated patient reminders and insurance billing.
Tebra (2021) – was created as a merger of Kareo and PatientPop. It positions itself as a unified "operating system" for practices that integrates clinical, financial and marketing tools.
