Tebra vs eClinicalWorks

October 10, 2025
Tebra and eClinicalWorks are both American cloud-based systems for electronic medical records and practice management. They include modules for clinical workflow automation, prescribing, patient history management, analytics, reporting, financial control and support telemedicine consultations. Both systems are HIPAA/HITRUST certified.

But Tebra (formed from the merger of Kareo and PatientPop in 2021) combines not only clinical, financial and front-office operations, but also marketing tools (website creation, SEO, reputation management) and actively uses AI for note automation (AI Note Assist) and review monitoring.

eClinicalWorks (1999) is an industry veteran and has long been used by numerous healthcare organizations in the US. The company offers hybrid deployment options: cloud and on-premises servers. The system is known for advanced document processing modules and integration tools (in particular with laboratories and pharmacies).
