Basecamp vs Clickup

Clickup ($537.5M)
Clickup
Basecamp and ClickUp are both SaaS project management and team collaboration services. They allow to create task lists, assign owners and deadlines, track progress, add comments and send notifications. Both services besides web-interface offer mobile app and support integrations with third-party tools.

But Basecamp (founded in 2004) is known for its simple interface and minimalism (the service even has own philosophy of not adding new features). This makes it very universal and popular among small companies and creative agencies. Basecamp offers built-in chat rooms and discussions within projects, ability to store files and documents linked to projects, but lacks a full-fledged time tracking system.

ClickUp (2017) offers much more flexible interface and workflow customization options. It includes Gantt Charts, built-in wiki for creating a knowledge base, time tracker, automation rules and access management system. It's more suitable for larger companies and bigger projects.
